Kristen leads the Commercial Insurance Operation at Brown & Brown of Virginia in the DC Metro office. Kristen started her insurance career in 1999 and has held several agency roles throughout her service with Kerxton Insurance Agency, now a Brown & Brown company.
Kristen graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2005 from George Mason University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance while working full time in an accounting/bookkeeper role. Shortly before graduation, she was recruited to assistant manager in the commercial lines department and immediately sought higher education in this field. Approximately 2 years, later she became the department lead and has since helped her department grow in risk management and sales. As a Certified Insurance Counselor, she specializes in commercial risks and oversees the day-to-day operations of our account service team as well as production. A great deal of her time is focused on compliance and training as well as handling and co‐servicing our largest accounts. She frequently attends customer appointments related to claims services, risk management, and marketing. Her main focus is on improving the customer experience through superior service and maintaining a foundation of strong carrier partnerships.
With a keen eye on the ever‐changing Employee Benefits market and the retention and growth within the market, Hiram Frias has had 21 years in the Employee Benefits Insurance sector. Hiram has led the Employee Benefits Department as the Employee Benefits Practice Leader for over five years. His focus is on creating greater efficiency and proactive customer engagement. In addition to overseeing department personnel, budget, and accountability, Hiram is actively involved in the mentoring of Producers and aiding in closing on New Business opportunities with a team, selling the concept that speaks to our service model.
Hiram is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he was selected as a member of the USMC elite Security Forces team. He was also named to the USMC Men’s Freestyle Wrestling Team, where he successfully competed against other national and international teams.
Upon the completion of his service from the Marine Corps, Hiram joined New York Life as a Producer in the sale of Group Health Benefits to include individual Life sales. He then joined an independent brokerage firm called Synergy Benefits, where he built out their commercial insurance practice. Synergy Benefits was later acquired by Brown & Brown of Virginia in 2012. Hiram was quickly promoted to Employee Benefits Department Leader in 2014.
Outside of work, Hiram is an active outdoorsman who loves to hunt, fish, and hike. He is active in his community as a supporter and volunteer for local youth wrestling leagues. He is also an active participant in matters related to the veteran support organizations. Hiram has been married to his high school sweetheart for 25 years and has three awesome kids.
As the Accounting and Operations leader for Brown & Brown of Virginia, Eugene acts as the business partner to the agency, providing "real-time" support and analysis in an effort to be a trusted adviser and to add value that will assist in decision making. He works to partner with all parties to achieve positive outcomes in both revenue management and expense management. He has been in his role since 2014 and assisted with several acquisitions, conversions, and an intracompany merger.
Prior to joining Brown & Brown, Eugene was the CFO of a local privately held company and was instrumental in managing their growth through acquisitions and sound financial management over fifteen years. Eugene holds the CPA designation and is licensed in Virginia.
George has over thirty years of experience in banking, mortgage banking, and multi‐entity service firms with consistently increasing responsibilities in accounting, finance, operations, and general management. He currently serves as Assistant Accounting Leader for all Virginia offices and oversees all aspects of the Accounting and HR functions. Responsibilities include managing accounting operations including monthly close, management reporting, A/P and A/R. He also develops, prepares, implements, and ensures compliance with internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting operations to align with corporate internal audit guidelines.
George comes to Brown & Brown of Virginia through the acquisition of the Kerxton Insurance Agency in 2018, where he held the title of CFO/Partner. He has held roles as CFO, Controller, and Sr. Vice President for several prominent local banks and financial institutions.
George has a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from the University of Maryland in College Park, MD, where he also holds his CPA License.
